Thinking about being a volunteer? Below are the many positions we have available at Rock Camp.
Band Manager
Monday-Friday; times may vary according to camp schedules. Musical experience necessary. This position is one of the most rewarding jobs for volunteers at Rock Camp. You will serve as a mentor for your assigned band(s) of campers, assisting them in preparation for the Saturday Night Showcase and coaching campers during band practice. Each band will have at least 2 band managers.
Instrument Instructor
Instrument Leader • Instrument Assistant
Monday-Friday. Times will vary by camp. Our campers possess a varying range of age and skill level, and many have never touched an instrument before in their lives. Now it’s time to teach them what you know. You may do some collaborative large-group teaching, as well as small group sessions (generally 3-5 students per teacher). You will also meet or email with your fellow instrument instructors at least once before orientation to decide on a curriculum and what style and level of experience each instructor is comfortable teaching. If you sign up as an Instrument Leader you will need to submit a lesson plan for the workshops you would like to lead via email no later than (dates).
Workshop Instructor
Workshop Leader • Workshop Assistant
Monday-Friday (times will vary with each camp). Each of our workshops values developing life skills and self-esteem, as well as encouraging creativity, self-expression, and awareness. This is a great supplemental position for instructors who would like to stay at camp through the afternoon. If you sign up as a workshop leader you will need to submit a lesson plan for the workshops you would like to lead via email no later than (date).

Roadie – Load in Crew
Saturday (times vary) One of the most important positions! Experience setting up drum kits and/or PA equipment is a plus.
Roadie – Load Out Crew
Sunday (time varies) Crew needed to tear down and load out gear after camp.
Registration
Monday-Friday 8:30-9:00am. Greet and register campers as they arrive.
Morning Assembly Crew
9:00-9:15am Get campers ready to ROCK! Help write and perform skilts, make up and sing camp theme songs.
Lunch Crew
Monday-Friday (times vary) Supervise and assist campers to and from lunch, handle immediate needs in cafeteria/eating area. Make sure students do not leave lunch without permission or without an approved camp volunteer.
Graduation Organizer
Friday: Times vary by camp: Organize graduation and reception
Information Table Crew
Monday-Friday (times vary): The information table position requires a volunteer to stay at a designated table to answer questions about camp or to let parents know where children are in case of an emergency. This position requires general knowledge of camp procedures, rules, regulations, room assignments, and staff. Training will be provided.
Attendance Hall Monitor
Monday-Friday 8:45am-6:pm (2 hour shifts available) This position requires checking up on classes, making sure students are where they are supposed to be, enforcement of camp guidelines and policies, and ability to oversea minors calmly and professionally.
General Counselor
Monday-Friday 8:30am-6:00pm Flexible shifts. Your job is to register campers in the morning distribute name tags and other camp materials. assist with attendance, supervise, move gear and generally help where needed.
Showcase organizer
Monday-Friday 3:45pm-5:45pm, & Saturday. Create the schedule and program for the final showcase performance.
Showcase Team
Friday & Saturday (Schedule determined by directors). Set up and decorate the lobby, Friday evening and saturday afternoon. During the showcase hand out programs, sell raffle tickets, and camp merchandise, take donations and pack up lobbty after the showcase.
Showcase Instrument Tech
Saturday 12-9pm. Check instruments during sound-check on Saturday and assist campers with tuning instruments backstage.
Photographer/Blogger/Social Media
Monday-Saturday: This position is crucial to our online presence with camp. We need someone who can walk around photographing and capturing the exciting moments of the day, then turn those moments into memories, blog posts and social media shout outs (facebook, twitter and youtube). This position can be shared by 2-3 volunteers provided they work together as a team and coordinate report to the marketing director for YEAH! to be sure organization guidelines are being followed. Experience with Photography, WordPress, Facebook Fan Pages, Twitter and Youtube are helpful.
