Thank you for your interest in New York City Rock Camp. We are a summer day camp for girls and boys ages 9-17. NYCRC’s mission is to support a culture of positive self-esteem and collaboration among young people while building community through music. NYCRC recognizes the potential of every young person to be a strong, talented, creative and empowered individual while providing a safe space where everyone rocks.
At NYCRC campers can choose from instrument lessons in guitar, bass, vocals, drums, or keyboards, and can take workshops in song-writing, recording, photography, arts and crafts, or music history. Campers will have the opportunity to form their own bands and perform for an audience of fans, family, and friends at the culiminating Saturday Night Showcase. Reserve your spot today and give your child the gift of collaboration, freedom of expression and empowerment through the power of rock and roll!
We will be offering one session of NYCRC for 2012;

Scholarships Opportunities
It is our mission at NYCRC never to turn away a willing participant for Rock Camp. With that in mind, we do offer scholarship opportunities to campers.
The tuition for NYCRC is $300. NYCRC operates with very limited resources and we rely heavily on donations and support from the community to sustain our programs. Therefore, we ask those who can afford to pay full tuition please to do so. This process is honor-based and confidential. We do not require supporting documents for financial aid consideration and expect complete honesty in your statement of need. We offer a limited number of scholarships to deserving campers.
Please submit an application by clicking on the Scholarships button. The deadline for submitting applications is May 1st. You will be notified if you have recieved a scholarship after this date.
Be a Volunteer!
Volunteering for camp can be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life. You will get the opportunity to work with some very talented young people; teaching them music, instrumental basics, band management, copperation as well as valuable life skills. You are empowering the next generation of artists. For more information about volunteering or to apply, please click on the VOLUNTEER button.
Adopt-A-Camper
Youth Empowerment through Arts & Humanities (YEAH!)’s mission is to open the world of music to children who may not otherwise have the opportunity. Last year over 20% of campers received either a half or full scholarships to several programs through YEAH!.
A donation in any amount for any program would be greatly appreciated, but your full tuition donation will make sure one deserving camper has a rockin’ good time and enjoys the empowering, community building experience that is at the heart of YEAH! In return for your generous donation you will be listed as a YEAH donor on our website (www.yeahintheboro.org) as well as the respective program’s website, and you will receive a personalized progress report and letter from you sponsored camper. If you have a specific camper in mind that you know would enjoy the experience please include that childs name and contact information below to make those special arrangements.
YEAH is committed to keeping tuition low as we strongly believe that music should be open to all children, regardless of finances.
